Thank you for your interest in conducting a mobile tour at the 2018 Upper Midwest Regional Planning Conference. Mobile tours are an interactive way to showcase planning activities where the conference is located. Tours should be conducted within a reasonable distance of the conference center, or adequate transportation should be arranged. Tours can vary from walking, biking, or vehicular. Tour length varies, however are typically about two hours. Think about great local projects that showcase both planning victories and struggles, local employers, or even an introduction to the City of Rochester. Lastly, make sure you consider the technology requirements and logistics for your tour. It is helpful to have two tour guides for large groups to ensure your message is heard in the front and back. If conducting a bus tour, please incorporate a presentation portion on the bus while riders are in transit.
In the interest of providing attendees a wide range of learning opportunities, we are interested in offering a number of mobile tours during the conference.
The proposal form below has many purposes. It will be used in selecting and developing mobile tours. It also will be used by the Minnesota APA Professional Development Officers (PDOs) to request CM credits. The session proposal form is also used to create the conference brochure. Please indicate the mode of travel in your proposal.
You are encouraged to prepare your submission in a Word document and cut and paste into the submission form. A copy of this submission will be sent to the submitter's email address. Please save a copy of your proposal.
The deadline for Session Proposals is March 23, 2018. Note there will be no extensions in 2018. Notification of mobile tour acceptance will occur by May 31, 2018.
If you have any questions about the mobile tours, please contact Logan Tjossem at firstname.lastname@example.org.
